Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA -- Margaret Dorothy Shelley, "Dot", age 102, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away on April 27, 2022.

Margaret was born on January 2, 1920, in Wilmington, MA; she was the daughter of the late Hugh C. and Mary J. (Doucette) Murray. Margaret was educated in Wilmington Public Schools and graduated from high school in 1938.

Margaret married her husband, Michael Shelley, in 1940. They settled in Wilmington, where they raised their five children: Margaret, Joanne, Patricia, Michael, and Robert. Margaret and Michael made many wonderful memories before his passing in 1974.

During World War II, Margaret worked as a secretary for the Army Induction Headquarters in Boston and later at the Charlestown Navy Yard. She made many friends that she kept for many years. In later years, Margaret worked for Avco/Textron; she was a hard worker and enjoyed her job. After twenty-five years, Margaret retired in 1986.

Margaret's family was her whole life; she loved spending time with her children and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting her daughter in Pennsylvania and taking family trips to Maine.

Margaret was a communicant of St. Thomas of Villanova Church and was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of America. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed reading and needlework. She also loved to knit and crochet for family and friends. Margaret was quite talented; she made many beautiful sweaters and sweat sets for her grandchildren.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Michael Shelley, devoted mother of Margaret E. Abbott of Venice, FL, Joanne F. Robbins, Patricia Morrow of Raymond, NH, Michael L. Shelley of North Carolina, and the late Robert W. Shelley, loving "Nana" of 17 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren, dear sister of Gertrude Murray, and special aunt of Bob and Annette Shelley of Wilmington. Margaret is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, May 4th from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.

Memorial donations in Margaret's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
