WILMINGTON, MA -- The Wilmington Farmers Market is thrilled to announce the extension of its SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) matching initiative into the off-season, starting next week. This program aims to make fresh, local produce and products more accessible to the community by offering significant discounts for SNAP participants throughout the year. Here's how it will work:
Online Ordering: Beginning October 30th, customers can place their orders online through our dedicated off-season SNAP ordering portal: http://www.wilmingtonfarmersmarket.com/off-season-snap-ordering.html.
Order Deadline: The online order form will be open until 9:00 am each Friday for the 1st 3 weeks of each month.
Pick-Up Location and Times: Customers can conveniently pick up their orders and pay using their SNAP cards between 10:00 am and 11:00 am every Sunday at the 4th of July Building, located at 142 Middlesex Ave in Wilmington, MA.
During this off-season period, the Wilmington Farmers Market is committed to supporting our community by covering 50% of the cost of each order. The remaining 50% will be charged to the customers' SNAP card.
The basic package is available for $25 and includes:
- A selection of fresh vegetables from Clodhopper and Gaouette farms
- A delicious fresh loaf of bread from Purple Carrot
- A delectable piece of cheese from Live Love Cheese
Add-ons are also available for an additional fee (a 50% discount) including: including:
- Vendor selections of fresh and prepared seafood from Seafood Express
- Take & Bake entrees for 2 from Purple Carrot
